HE WAS BANNED FROM THE BALLROOM FOR HIS RAGGED CLOTHES, UNTIL HE REVEALED A SECRET TO THE TYCOON

HE WAS BANNED FROM THE BALLROOM FOR HIS RAGGED CLOTHES, UNTIL HE REVEALED A SECRET TO THE TYCOON – PART 2 🤫

The silence in the grand ballroom was so absolute that the distant sound of rain against the palace windows felt like a thunderclap. The billionaire, Arthur Sterling, stood frozen, his hand still hovering in the air as if to strike the boy. But as he looked from the boy’s grimy, determined face to the soft, trembling smile on his daughter Elena’s lips, the mask of the cold-hearted tycoon began to shatter.

"How do you know that name?" Arthur whispered, his voice cracking. "How do you know she’s been waiting?"

The boy, Leo, didn't answer with words. He reached into his tattered pocket and pulled out a worn, hand-drawn music box. It was a simple, wooden thing—a stark contrast to the gold and velvet surrounding them. He set it on the marble floor and pressed a hidden latch.

A melody began to play—a soft, haunting lullaby that hadn't been heard in that room for ten years. It was the same song Elena’s mother had hummed to her the night before the accident that took her mother's life and left Elena paralyzed.

Elena let out a sob, her fingers reaching out toward the boy. "Leo? You came back?"

Arthur’s breath hitched. "Leo? The boy who disappeared from the hospital? The boy who was the only one with her in the car the night of the crash?"

"I didn't disappear, Mr. Sterling," Leo said, his eyes filled with a maturity that made him seem far older than his ten years. "I was hidden. When the car went off the road, I crawled out of the wreckage. I’ve been living in the shadows of this city, waiting for the day I could fulfill the promise I made to her in the dark. I promised her that if she stayed strong, I would come back to take her out of the chair."

The guests were no longer whispering in disgust. They were stunned, many with hands over their mouths, watching as the "stray street kid" walked toward the wheelchair.

Arthur Sterling, a man who had built his empire on ruthlessness, dropped to his knees. He looked at the boy, then at his daughter, and realized he had been so busy protecting her with money that he had forgotten to protect her spirit.
