Jake stood without a word.
He walked into the living room.
Returned carrying a tablet.
Helen frowned.
"What's that supposed to prove?"
Jake looked at her calmly.
"I installed a doorbell camera six months ago."
"You said it was unnecessary."
He tapped the screen.
Video after video appeared.
Helen arriving every weekday.
Sometimes staying for hours.
One recording captured raised voices through the open doorway.
Another showed Helen leaving while Megan struggled to stand, crying.
The final clip showed Helen gripping Megan's arm hard enough to make her stumble backward before slamming the apartment door.
Helen's confidence vanished.
"I..."
"It wasn't like—"
Jake interrupted quietly.
"Stop."
