THE DOG WOULDN’T STOP SCRATCHING THE WALL

THE DOG WOULDN’T STOP SCRATCHING THE WALL – PART 2 🤫

The air in the bedroom grew unnaturally cold as the final chunk of drywall fell away, hitting the hardwood floor with a dull thud. Daniel stood rooted to the spot, his flashlight beam trembling as he cast it into the gaping hole in the wall. Beside him, Rada stopped scratching, but she didn’t retreat. She let out a low, guttural growl, her hackles raised in a stiff ridge along her spine.

At first, there was only darkness. Then, the light caught something reflecting from within the cavity—something metallic.

Daniel reached in, his fingers brushing against cold, smooth objects. He pulled out a heavy, rusted metal lockbox, its surface etched with symbols that looked like they hadn't seen the light of day for decades. Behind it, wedged deep into the wall’s frame, were dozens of small, faded photographs, all showing the same thing: the very room they were sleeping in, taken from various angles over a span of years.

"Daniel... look at the photos," Claire whispered, her voice barely audible.
