THE WOLF’S BADGE: THE ECHOES OF THE PAST

THE WOLF’S BADGE: THE ECHOES OF THE PAST (Part 2)

The silence in the diner was shattered only by the hum of the old refrigerator and the rhythmic thumping of rain against the glass. The man by the counter—the one who called himself "The Wolf"—still held the girl behind him. His eyes, cold and calculating, were locked on the three men who had just stepped out of the shadows by the entrance. They weren't just common thugs; their tactical gear and the professional way they cleared the room told him everything he needed to know.

"Hand over the kid, Wolf," the leader sneered, his hand hovering over his sidearm. "She’s not your problem. She’s an asset of the Syndicate."

The little girl, shivering violently, pressed her face against the biker’s worn leather jacket. She clutched a small, tarnished silver badge—the very badge that had been missing from the uniform of the Captain of the Precinct since the "Great Purge" ten years ago. It was the same badge that belonged to the brother of the man standing in front of them.
